PDT undertook the masterplanning and architectural design and documentation of the new $17m indoor sports centre at Logan. PDT’s design included additional new sports fields and over flow parking in the existing sports reserve with the placement of a new indoor sports centre and car parking in the adjacent bush reserve. The design boasts avenue tree plantings to define roads and provide shade for car parks, with timber bridges across bio filtration swales helping to aid in stormwater treatment in a natural environment. The plant palette consisted of hardy, low maintenance native trees, shrubs and grasses to tie in with the existing nature reserve. This project was completed in August 2009.
