We’re proud to announce the promotion of Kiel Gailer to Associate and Interior Design Manager a well‑deserved milestone that reflects years of steady growth, quiet leadership, and consistently exceptional work.

Kiel joined PDT in 2015 fresh out of university, starting out as a reserved team member and quickly proving that substance speaks louder than volume. Over the years, he has evolved into a highly respected leader, trusted by both colleagues and clients alike for his calm approach, considered judgement and depth of technical knowledge.

Kiel’s journey into leadership has grown from his commitment to the work and the people around him. He has spent time honing his craft, building strong client relationships, and mentoring emerging team members all while developing a reputation for being someone who can be relied upon when things get complex. Those who’ve worked closely with him will know he brings a rare mix of professionalism, deep construction expertise, sharp problem‑solving skills (usually after the first coffee), and an ability to think on his feet. Naturally inquisitive, Kiel also has an impressive catalogue of random facts on hand delivered, of course, with his trademark dry sense of humour.

Client feedback consistently highlights just how easy Kiel is to work with. His pragmatic approach, clear understanding of site constraints, and ability to balance delivery realities with design intent make him a trusted presence across projects.

Within the studio, Kiel is a highly valued mentor and collaborator generous with his time, knowledge and support. Beyond project delivery, he has made a significant contribution to the broader practice, acting as a trusted support to senior management, contributing across multiple areas of the business, and leading PDT’s BIM Committee, where he continues to shape best practice and innovation across the studio dressed in his signature black. Perhaps this promotion might finally inspire a splash of colour.
