PDT were engaged by the Department of Education to provide master planning, concept and detailed design, documentation and construction services for a new 10 space GLA building at Eagle Junction State School in Clayfield, north of Brisbane CBD. The building is designed for early learning including prep to year 3 classrooms, and includes an outdoor play area and landscaped outdoor space.

Integrating the new Learning Centre building exterior design with the existing school heritage architecture and local character housing was a key consideration, as well as visual and acoustic separation. Through significant civil works, the building was lowered to appear as a single level building minimising impact to neighbouring properties and allowing them to maintain their privacy. Retaining walls were integrated to maximise usable landscaped playing area and incorporate rainwater harvesting.
