PDT worked with McConaghy Properties to revitalise Castletown Shopping Centre, a sub-regional centre in Townsville. Anchored by in-coming major tenant 'Coles' supermarket, the project re-purposes the existing food court and former Target tenancy to introduce additional mini-majors and specialty retailers, creating a vibrant mix of local and national brands.

A new statement entry addressing Woolcock Street forms a shaded public arrival space, with battened canopies, green arbours and a generous glazed entry that responds to the tropical climate. Internally, a refined palette of light timbers, natural stone, clerestory glazing and integrated greenery complements the existing fabric while enhancing daylight and amenity.

The project also upgraded site functionality, improving vehicle and pedestrian access and carparking, new Coles Click & Collect facilities, and refreshed amenities. New centre branding, façade upgrades and landscape works reinforce Castletown’s identity as a key retail destination for Townsville.
