Prince Charles Paediatric Emergency Centre

The Prince Charles Hospital underwent a $39.3 million expansion and redevelopment of the paediatric centre and emergency care.

PDT Architects were selected by Queensland Health to redevelop and expand the hospital’s emergency department. With careful planning and close engagement between the project team and hospital staff, it led to the creation of areas for temporary relocation enabling the hospital to remain operative 24/7.

The Prince Charles Hospital expansion included a three-storey emergency building that includes a dedicated adult and paediatric triage, waiting area, 12 treatment bays, 20 multi-day / short stay beds, outpatient department consulting rooms, clinical administration and a new 24-hour medical imaging facility.
